東京電力福島第一原子力発電所事故から15年目を迎えた2026年3月に開催された第27回「環境放射能」研究会において，出席者に対し，環境放射能研究に関連する現在の課題についての意識調査を行った。回答者数が多かったALPS処理水による環境影響の有無に関し議論をしたところ，現状，影響が出るとは考えにくいという意見が多かった。放出された放射性物質をトレーサーとした環境移行メカニズム解明や，環境影響調査により，環境で起こっている事象への理解が進むことへの期待も語られた。

At the 27th “Environmental Radioactivity” Research Meeting, held in March 2026, 15 years after the TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, we conducted a survey among attendees regarding their opinions for the several remaining research points related to environmental radioactivity. Following the survey result, because many attendees showed their intention on ALPS-treated water discharge and the effect to the environment, the topic was selected for the following free discussion. Through this discussion, we found that many scientists thought that the environmental impact of this discharge to be negligible, given the current situation We also found that there is a scientific need to clarify the transfer mechanisms of elements and/or materials in the environment, and their environmental impact, using radionuclides caused by the accident as a tracer.
