小動物を用いた前臨床分子イメージングは基礎研究と臨床研究をつなぐ手段として認知されている。しかし残念ながら，イメージング装置はその操作の特殊性のため誰もが気軽に利用できるものではない。本稿は分子イメージング初学者に対し実験に必要な最低限の知識を提供することを目的として，前臨床核医学イメージングの基礎について解説する。
Small-animal molecular imaging is recognized as a method that bridges basic study and clinical research. However, the imaging system is not easily available to everyone due to the peculiarity of handling and management. Here the author describe the basic of preclinical positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) for beginners.
