This research started in 2012 for the development of a gel dosimetry for a heavy ion beam with collaboration between RIKEN, NIRS and The University of Tokyo. When measuring the heavy ion beam dose distribution, it is important to understand and control any change of the dose response of the dosimeter which depended on the radiation quality of heavy ion beam. Recent papers concerning heavy ion beam dosimetry and the author’s study are summarized.
